The Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo aims to share urban transport best practices, foster collaboration among stakeholders, address key sector issues, and showcase innovative technologies and projects.
The UMI Conference’s origins lie in the National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP) of the Government of India, 2006, which emphasizes building capabilities at the State and city level to develop sustainable urban transport systems. The event’s primary objectives are:
- Dissemination of Information: To keep cities and their officials updated with the latest and best urban transport practices globally.
- Knowledge Exchange: To provide a forum for key decision-makers and delegates to interact with professionals, experts, academia, industry, civil society, and technology providers.
- Showcase Innovation: The accompanying expo serves to display the latest developments in urban transport technology, systems, and exemplary projects.
- Policy Dialogue: To discuss key issues relevant to the sector and suggest measures to address them.
- Promote Best Practices: To identify and award “Best Practice” projects in urban transport across various categories.
