📢 Important Update: Cancellation of the German Winner Show / Internationale Rassehunde-Ausstellung Gelsenkirchen 2026
After careful consideration of all current framework conditions, the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) has officially made the difficult decision not to hold the German Winner Show 2026, which was scheduled to take place from July 17 to 19 in Gelsenkirchen.
While the preparatory work was well underway, this decision was made to ensure that the standards of our premier canine evaluation platforms remain fully aligned with modern logistical and structural demands. A brand-new strategic concept for the future organization and hosting of the German Winner Show is currently being actively developed by our planning committees.

📍 Affected Venue: Windhundstadion „Emscherbruch“ (WRV Westfalen-Ruhr), Gelsenkirchen, Germany
We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the breed clubs, international judges, registered exhibitors, and the venue operators at the Windhundrennverein Westfalen-Ruhr for their hard work, initial preparation, and excellent cooperation up to this point.
Next Steps for Exhibitors & Breeders:
🔹 Registration Status: All processes via the online entry portals (such as OnlineDogShows) are being halted. Further direct communications regarding entries will be coordinated through official channels.
🔹 Future Show Schedule: The VDH continues to host an active calendar of alternative International Exhibitions throughout the year. We encourage our community to explore alternative major fixtures, including the upcoming shows in Ludwigshafen, Leipzig, and Dortmund.
🔹 Concept Updates: The VDH will publish updates as soon as the final decisions regarding the new structural concept for the German Winner Show series are formalized.
