Since its inception in 2001, the Green Building Congress has been instrumental in accelerating India’s green building movement. It serves as the largest platform in Asia for stakeholders from the construction industry, including architects, engineers, planners, builders & developers, contractors, consultants, corporate, green product manufacturers, government officials, educational institutions, and technology providers, to converge, share knowledge, learn about emerging technologies, and forge new partnerships.
India has demonstrated significant leadership in green buildings, with over 13.56 billion sq. ft of green footprint and more than 15,800 projects adopting IGBC’s 32 rating systems. This places India among the top three countries globally in terms of the largest registered green building footprint. The Green Building Congress plays a catalytic role in this success.
